SAILING enthusiasts managed to get in some racing last Sunday despite an adverse weather forecast.
West Kirby had a strong turn out on the Marine Lake. Martin Hartley led the way from Mal Jones, both sailing in GP 14s. Jamie Smith was third in a Laser.
At Hoylake, on the tide, Steve Stratton won twice in the Enterprise Fast Eddies.
Liverpool Marina had 25 yachts out on the Mersey, but two of them had to retire early after their mains were blown out.
Neil Thomas in Paranoah won the Offshore section while the LBSA group was claimed by Doug McGarvie in Argo.
