HAIRDRESSER Craig Blackwell, aged 28, of Priory Wharf, Birkenhead, was fined £1,000 by Wirral magistrates after he admitted driving his BMW car while disqualified and without insurance cover.
Solicitor Christopher Murphy successfully appealed for no new ban for Blackwell, who runs three shops. He said the disqualification of 12 months Blackwell had completed had cost him a lot of money. He paid up to £90 weekly in taxi fares to get around his premises. A further ban would make it very difficult for him, especially as his wife, who worked with him, was now pregnant.
