MORE than 40 local charities are set to take part in the Birkenhead Charities Fair, organised by Wirral Council for Voluntary Service (CVS).
The event, in the Assembly Rooms at Birkenhead Town Hall, Hamilton Square, on Friday (November 21) will be officially opened at 11am by the Mayor of Wirral, Coun Barney Gilfoyle.
There will be stalls and exhibitions featuring both Birkenhead and Wirral-wide voluntary groups/charities, providing an opportunity to buy - or win - something for Christmas.
And the charities involved will also be on hand to offer a wide range of advice and information.
Jean Benfield, Wirral CVS Chief Executive, said: "We have been delighted by the response of local voluntary groups who are taking part in the Fair. We hope lots of people will come and visit the Fair on the day. There's something for everyone - and admission is free!"
Other support organisations which will be there on the day include the Charity Commission and the Directory of Social Change - and the National Lottery Charities Board will be holding a lunchtime advice surgery.
Refreshments will also be on sale, courtesy of Age Concern Wirral. The Fair will be open until 4pm.
