ENTREPRENEURS aren't born, their skills are cultivated and encouraged through experience. They don't behave like millionaires, even when successful. Many firms discourage entrepreneurship by corporate thinking and financial cutbacks.
These were the thoughts left for 350 business leaders to digest over dinner, at the Moat House, Chester, after entrepreneur David Hall delivered the sixth annual CEWTEC lecture.
David won a BAFTA award for writing and presenting a six part TV series - 'Winning' - and the title for the lecture was Secrets of Successful Entrepreneurs.
Three local entrepreneurial firms were singled out for success by Alan Moody, chief executive of CEWTEC, based at Egerton House, Birkenhead.
They are Tessuti Trading, Chester, voted Independent Designer Fashion Retailer of the Year by one magazine; Phoenix Fire Inhibitor, of Ellesmere Port, and Roy Hankinson, of Eastham, for receiving work by Royal Appointment at Buckingham Palace.
