AN an ex-pat from Wirral, I was very pleased to learn that the Wirral Globe was on the Internet.
I have lived in Australia for the past twelve years and over this time communication has either been with letter or by expensive phone calls.
The Internet is definitely a more 'user friendly' way of communication.
Anyone thinking of visiting Down Under will find the contents of a thousand travel agents on the web. As I reside in Sydney, locate "www.sidewalk.com.au" and you will find a wealth of information about our olympic city, from daily 'what's on' stuff, to the cheapest eats in town.
My mum and dad, Pam and Pat Scott, of Meols, are visiting Australia next year. It is indeed an exciting time to visit as many more tourist attractions are opening in advance of the 2000 Olympics, not just in Sydney but throughout New South Wales.
I lived and work very close to the city centre and although I have moved around since my arrival in Australia, Sydney definitely has something for everyone, regardless of age.
Anyone seeking specific information about Sydney, please feel free to drop me an e-mail as I am only too happy to oblige.
