From Rev. Frederick Grossmith:- I AM the author of 'The sinking of the Laconia' - the Liverpool Cunard liner torpedoed and sunk in 1942.
Presently, a television documentary based upon my book is in production by an American company and in co-operation with producer Nigel Turner, who produced television's long running 'Whickers World', I would value and appreciate information that might lead to:-
(i) locating film footage of the 'Laconia' in pre-war days,
(ii) tracing survivors who at the time were children taking passage in the 'Laconia'.
The programme is scheduled for transmission by satellite to Britain shortly after completion in early May, 1998.
Should anyone be able to help me with information I would be pleased to hear from them.
