From Dr P.A. Dufton, Chairman, Living Options, Wirral:-
FURTHER to my letter (Mailbox, October 22) under the headline Why our free welfare service is having to close, I have received the following letter which speaks more eloquently about the need for Living Options' free Welfare Benefits advice service.
It is from Mrs Aspink, who writes: "I am writing to say I think your letter in the Wirral Globe - explaining why you can't afford to keep a Benefits Officer - is a disgrace.
"If it wasn't for the likes of this service there would be a lot of people, including myself, who would not know about these claims.
"I think the work they do is of a high quality; they help the public to apply for the benefits which they need.
"Could you please change your decision and fund this valuable service again for all the people on Wirral who have nowhere else to go?"
