Calday Grange Grammar School will again represent Merseyside in the English Schools' Area Championships in Blackburn in January, 1998.
Calday Under-16s beat Grange High School, Formby, in the Merseyside final 5-3. Calday: Chris Hill, Chris Thompson, David Toy and Mark Prury.
Cheshire Juniors first team won all three matches at the County Weekend in Grantham, Norfolk, beating Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Chris Dunne and Terri-Ann Nolan, of Birkenhead, were unbeaten. John Coysh (Gautby Road) also had good wins.
Cheshire second team blooded young Wirral players Annabelle Sorrentino, Danny Horner, Ian Heatley and Lyndsey Powell.
