WIRRAL'S Living Options, welfare benefits advice for people with physical disabilities, is unable to take on any more clients. "This regrettable decision has been taken by management committee because Living Options no longer has funding for this project," says Chairman Dr Paul Dufton. The project will cease on December 1. Living Options is based at the Cavendish Enterprise centre, 670 1500.
MEMBERS of Wirral Stroke Club joined a Westminster Lobby of MPs to highlight the fact that a stroke is the third biggest cause of death and the largest single cause of severe disability. Wirral South MP Ben Chapman agreed to pursue some issues raised with Wirral Health Authority.
WIRRAL Alcohol Service is excellent - and that's official. In the Public Sector Utility category of the 1997 Management Today Unisys Service Excellent Awards, the Birkenhead-based Alcohol Service was runner-up against major national companies. Manager Sue Henty and staff are delighted. The service offers support to anyone whose life is affected by alcohol.
