FORMER British rally champ Russell Brook won the 1997 RAC International Rally run alongside the RAC Network Q Rally.
Brooks' Porsche 911 was followed to victory by two other Porsche 911s. Kynaston in a red Sunbeam Tiger then brought in the first of the British sports cars, in fourth place, followed by a Mini Cooper S, Lotus Cortina and Austin Healey 3000. Drama in the Tiger when it burst a tyre at 120 mph at Castle Combe, the car landing in a field. It was towed out to rejoin the fray.
