WHILE McRae battled to win the World Championship again in this year's Network Q RAC Rally, Wirral's Tony Jardine was also taking part in the RAC Insurance/Direct Ford Escort.
He is pictured with team mate Bob McKenzie (left), who picked up the wrong pace notes for the foggy opening stage. Jardine spun off at Blenheim but the battling pair where in an encouraging 63rd position, at the time of writing.
"Most importantly, we are in a good position to beat our 1993 effort. That's something we are keen to do," they told the Globe.
