AS the winter weather sets in and the first frost begins to bite, drivers are outside early in the morning scraping the ice off their cars.
Colonnade Insurance have issued some advice for Wallasey motorists on how to prepare their car for winter and ensure they won't be left out in the cold.
Check:- tyres, including the spare for damage, tread and pressure; anti-freeze levels in your radiator; de-icer solution in your windscreen washer reservoir; car battery distilled water levels; brakes, lights, steering and heaters.
Lynda Mealor, Sales Manager at Colonnades Wallasey branch added: "It may sound like common sense, but it's amazing how many claims are reported which could have so easily been avoided by the motorists checking their vehicle."
Colonnade also advise that motorists carry the following items in their car to ensure a hassle free winter:- Windscreen de-icer and scraper; torch; shovel; blanket, warm clothes and boots.
