From E. Mace:-I AM very concerned that Wirral Planning Committee may give consent to the building of a public house on the site of the old Derby Pool in Wallasey.
Many residents of Wallasey Village are very angry at the prospect of a pub in a valuable and quiet area by the sea. Do the planners want to completely disregard the wishes of th e majority of people living in the area?
The matters of concern in Wallasey Village are :
1: lack of traffic control by means of roundabout or traffic light at the five-way junction of Wallasey Village, Harrison Drive, Grove Road, Groveland Road, and Park Road Station entrance; and also the junction of Green Lane and Wallasey Village.
2: lack of parking provision in Wallasey Village.
3: many uneven pavements.
Birkenhead in particular, but also Seacombe, New Brighton, Poulton and Liscard are being given much consideration. It is time the welfare of Wallasey residents is considered.
