FOUR hundred jobs may be created in Bromborough if planners give the go-ahead for a business park development with a foodstore and leisure complex.
But councillors, including Bromborough Ward leader of the Council, Dave Jackson, will balance the promise of jobs against possible harm to exisiting retail centres in the area.
The Globe broke the story last week that Lever Brothers and Trinity Investments have lodged a joint application with Wirral Council to transform the disused former animals feeds site adjacent to Unilever works on the A41, Bromborough, opposite the Village Hotel.
Developers Trinity believe the plan will transform a potential eyesore into an attractive development, a magnet for further regeneration. David Harrison, of Trinity, believes the development could be in place by the end of next year, but Wirral Council first has to give the go-ahead. The Council also hopes to keep Tulip International in Wirral by offering the food firm a new factory site in Bromborough.
