BUDDING Wirral artist Gemma Davies used her imagination to scoop a top prize in a regional drawing competition.
Ten year-old Gemma, of Birkenhead, wins £25-worth of gift vouchers, a year's family membership at the Eureka Children's Museum plus a free class visit there.
Her design for the post office of the future was voted the best out of hundreds entered in the competition organised jointly by Post Office Counters and the museum in Halifax.
Gemma, of Claughton Road, was the overall winner in the eight to 12 age group. The competition, promoted in all 72 of the region's main post offices during August, asked children to imagine how a post office would look in the year 2020 and then draw a picture.
Said a Post Office Counters spokesman: "The theme linked perfectly with a project we will launch nationally next year to computerise every post office by the turn of the century.
"Some of the futuristic creations submitted have certainly given us food for thought. The competition obviously stretched their imaginations as well as giving youngsters the chance to win some excellent prizes."
