WORLD class tennis players from as far afield as Belgium, Holland, Germany and Russia competed against some of Britain's best in the 1997 Lawn Tennis Association Autumn Satellite Series Masters at Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre, Birkenhead.
Barry Cowan (Ormskirk) won the title, beating Belgian Gilles Elseneer 6-3, 7-6.
The event was supported by EuroWirral, who contributed prize money.
