New Brighton 22pts, Chester Twos 5pts
SHAUN Gallagher skippered New Brighton 'A' to a convincing victory over Chester at Hare Lane, on Saturday.
Chris Bentley had his first senior game just 10 weeks after a medial ligament injury which once took players a full season to recover from. Clearly the involvement of highly respected Dr David Reece continues to provide great benefit for the Reeds Lane club.
North of England Schools' star James Joblin made his New Brighton debut in the front row, having recently transferred from Stockport and completed his County Colts season. The 17-stone youngster looked strong and played well.
Stepping up the rankings, 18-stone Phil Gozola showed imposing form both in the scrum and powerful running. Clearly, the Blues have two impressive youngsters to support Shaun Mooney as cover.
New Brighton try scorers: Sion O'Hare, Robbie Harman and Paul Kay, 2. Andy Nelson made one conversion.
