THE Wirral Youth Theatre has a new home!
Things looked bleak when the Youth Theatre was told they would no longer be welcome at the home of 15 years, the Glenda Jackson Theatre in Birkenhead. On hearing of their plight, St Benedict's School in Woodchurch saved the day by inviting them to share their facilties.
St Benedict's High School launched its partnership with Wirral Youth Theatre with a spectacular show of young talented students from the school. First meeting of the New Year for Wirral Community Health Council - the public watchdog on local health matters - will be on Tuesday, January 13, at the Resource Centre, St Catherine's Hospital, Birkenhead (1pm).
Chair of Wirral Education Committee Coun Mick Groves spoke warmly of the new partnership between the Youth Theatre and St Benedict's, and dedicated the theatre to the late Mark O'Sullivan, founder member of the Youth Theatre. Wirral West MP Stephen Hesford received a warm friendly welcome, and praised the two institutions in this exciting initiative.
The Youth Theatre is also appealing for new members, aged between 13 and 25. New members aged 18-25 are particularly needed. For further information phone 677-0753.
