STEPHEN Hesford pledged to vote for the anti-hunt Bill when he attended a photocall at the House of Commons.
The Wirral West MP cast his vote in favour of the Wild Mammals (Hunting with Dogs) Bill, which seeks to outlaw all hunting with dogs, including fox hunting, hare coursing and deer hunting.
Recent opinion polls show that support for the Bill has risen over the last few months. A recently released MORI poll showed 73 per cent of the British public in support of the Bill.
Said a spokesman for the Campaign for the Protection of Hunted Animals: "We greatly appreciate the support of Stephen Hesford.
"Not only do the majority of the British public want to see this barbaric activity banned, so do the majority of MPs, including 11 Cabinet Ministers and the Prime Minister himself."
Mr Hesford received his pledge certificate from Samantha Arditti of the League Against Cruel Sports.
