WIRRAL Under-11s Chess team is looking for new talent . . .
If you are a chess player at primary school who missed the recent trials, or the school hasn't got a chess club, you still have a chance to join the squad. Free coaching sessions begin on Sunday (December 7) at Wallasey Chess Club (10am-1pm).
Wallasey Chess Club is one of the most successful clubs in the North-West. It meets every Monday and Thursday evening at New Brighton Cricket Club (7.30pm) and chess players of all abilities are welcome to attend.
Interested chess players should ring Duncan Rennie between 6pm and 9pm on 630-3420.
Duncan's son, John, became an England player from the Wirral team and was selected for a trip to Russia earlier this year. Wirral's Andrew Farley was selected for England 'A' team, and he and John will be among the volunteers helping to coach the Wirral Under-11 squad this season.
