WALLASEY'S oldest smallest business has closed because of the Four Bridges being off for so long. Newsagent Barbara Nevin has sold her last Post and Mirror at the colourful little Central Park Kiosk.
It is the end of an era, as the wooden kiosk started trading 80 years ago, as a start up venture for a WWI veteran.
"I will miss our regular customers terribly but passing trade has fallen off dramatically since the Four Bridges have been off to traffic. I just can't exist until they are repaired next May."
Another local business blaming the Four Bridges for its closure is Wallasey Tyres in Kelvin Road. Here too, passing trade was hit.
