From N. Robinson: IN response to the letter from D. Rowland of Heswall (Mailbox, November 26) I wonder whether this reader is aware of the excellent service available through 'Merseylink' which is free to any user who finds it either impossible or difficult to use public transport.
One other person is entitled to travel with them, also free of charge. Details and application forms can be obtained from the 'Merseylink' office in Clayton Square, Liverpool.
We are indeed very fortunate in this region to have 'free' transport for the fit and able, and those who fall outside this category too.
One other scheme exists for anyone under the age of 65 called the 'Mobility Allowance' where actual extra cash is available to enable people to call taxis or help to run a car.
