From Irate:- I AM writing on behalf of many people in the centre of the Woodchurch Estate, with regard to the terrible state of the local bus service.
We are credited with having a ten minute bus service, which in actual fact is quite the reverse. We have been known to wait for the No.70 bus for anything up to an hour. This week for instance there has been an hours waiting - a 40 minute wait and a 30 minute wait all in the course of one day.
It appears that the bus routes can be demanded by the two high rise flats, Flambards and Brackendale. Residents of these flats appear to have had the No 16 and 17 buses re-routed to go down New Hey Road, taking people from there to Arrowe Park Hospital, doctors surgery etc, but for people in the middle of the Estate they have to get two buses to do this.
For most OAP's this gets them there at no cost. For others, simply to visit hospital the cost is enormous.
We hope that our MP will read this letter and investigate what has happened to what was once a really good service.
