FINAL match of the SMC Computers National Junior League was held at Grimsby, with both Wirral AC's Junior Men's and Junior Women's teams making the long journey.
The Junior Women's team, in a close fought match, finished a creditable fourth with 256 points behind winners Holt Springhead (313). Overall, the team finished fourth.
Despite many athletes having to double up in events, there were some good performances and results by the Wirral competitors:-
Vicki Murphy, 1st, 100m hurdles 'A' (15.9secs); Vicki Milne, 1st, 100m hurdles 'B' (19.7secs); Dawn Grove, 1st, 400m hurdles 'A' (72.5secs); Vicki Milne, 2nd, 400m hurdles 'B' (76.4secs); Ellie Yavari, 1st, 800m 'A' (2 mins 30.6secs) and 2nd, 1500m 'A' (5 mins 10secs); Rebecca Lindesay, 1st 1500m 'B' (5 mins 14.1secs); Elizabeth Bowyer, 1st, Shot 'A' (10.84m) and 2nd Discus 'A' (27.02m).
Thanks go to Margaret Milne, team manager, for her organisation and encouragement this season.
