NESTON Station is in an 'appalling state', Ellesmere Port and Neston Council has told Railtrack and North West Trains. It's a view shared by Wrexham and Birkenhead Rail Users' Association, which held its annual meeting in Neston Town Hall.
Chairman Tom Garrett, of The Moorings, Lower Heswall, is disappointed that Railtrack has not improved the station yet.
"We are greatly disappointed and annoyed for the people of Neston. The longer the delay, the more we are losing passengers because people do not want to use Neston Station."
Railtrack has indicated that it is considering a facelift costing 'several hundred thousands pounds' but WBRUA fears the station's buildings are beyond saving.
