A GROUP of young people from the Prince's Trust spent the past three weeks creating log play sculptures in the children's play area at Eastham Country Park, and created a 30-foot long log pirate ship.
A nautical theme was chosen for the design as the site is close to the River Mersey, and the good ship 'HMS Squirrel' will stand in Eastham Country Park providing hours of fun for children.
HMS Squirrel was funded by money raised by the young people from the Prince's Trust group with valuable advice and help given by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV). The fenced area around the sculpture was funded by the Rainbow Trust of Eastham, Friends of Eastham Country Park and Wirral Council Leisure Services and constructed by the BTCV.
