HOYLAKE Gala Day is Saturday, December 13, staged by Hoylake Chamber of Trade. There will be a contest to count the number of lights on Hoylake town Christmas Tree, plus a prize for children who have had their photograph taken with the parrot in the smuggler's cave at Maccombs pet shop. The best photo wins tickets to the panto 'Cinderella' at the Floral Pavilion. And Holy Trinity School in Market Street will be joining in the fun with their Christmas Fair. Mayor of Wirral Barney Gilfoyle will judge the best-dressed shop window and there will be buskers, bands, Cinderella, face painting plus, of course, Father Christmas.
PLANS for a detached house near Station Approach, fronting Clevely Road, Meols, are among latest planning applications to Wirral Council. There is also an application to build an extension at 12 Elwyn Road, Meols, and at 24 Abbey Road, West Kirby. Retention of a conservatory is applied for at 41 Trinity Road, Hoylake.
HOYLAKE Community Association hosted lunch for 80 students who walked from Moreton Adult Training Centre in aid of Children In Need.
HAMPERS will go to elderly in West Kirby and Hoylake when West Wirral Lions play Santa following supermarket collections.
