A SOLICITOR asked for his client to be remanded in custody when he re-appeared before Wirral magistrates.
Ian Malcolm Wass, aged 47, from Bromborough, and who had been staying in Skipton, North Yorkshire, faces ten charges of theft of a total of £214,648 at Bromborough and also one matter of carrying on an investment business when not authorised.
Tony Ostrin, defending, said Wass had come under pressure from complainants and needed to be detained for his own protection. The Yorkshire address was no longer available to him.
Wass, who had earlier been on conditional bail, was remanded in custody for seven days towards committal proceedings on a date still to be finalised.
