BEER drinker MP Ben Chapman sets a festive example by having a drink but leaving his car at home. The Wirral South MP was in his Heswall local to support a charity night in aid of Claire House children's hospice appeal.
Speaking in support of the Christmas drink drive campaign he said: "Have none for the road! Make this a Christmas and New Year to remember for the right reasons. If you are going to enjoy a drink leave the car at home. Take a taxi, bus or catch a lift with someone who is not drinking. There is no responsible way of drinking before you intend to drive."
Mr Chapman made his remarks before leaving the House of Commons to spend time in the constituency.
Mr Chapman is pictured back row left at the Black Horse Pub. Licensee Kevin McArdle did his Elvis routine as part of the charity night. Vice chair of Claire House Dave Cairns received a £700 cheque on behalf of the staff and regulars.
