WILL Thompson, in Fast Eddies, won Hoylake Sailing Club's Icebreaker Dinghy Open Meeting ahead of Gavin Melling in Gavnik. Each had a win, but the better result in the second race decided the issue.
Wind conditions were very light and it was a similar story in the Mersey where only one yacht, Artful Dodger (Ken Harvey), finished in the LBSA section.
The Channel Handicap section did better, with Leyland Morris, in Outrageous, successful again from Neil Thomas in Paranoah and Brian Sprague aboard Crakajax.
On the lake at West Kirby, Jamie Smith, in the Laser Trade Secrets, won the fast section of the dingies, with the slow section taken by Julia Cornah in a Cadet.
