ON the crest of a wave is five-year-old arthritis victim James Griffiths (pictured above), who swam 40 lengths to raise over £159 for his school, Bedford Drive Primary, Rock Ferry. And to think he was terrified of the water a year ago!
Brave James struggles with severe arthritis in his hands and knees and swimming is the only exercise he can do. He started lessons at Byrne Avenue baths, Rock Ferry, in June and has gone from strength to strength. He raised £159 and has more sponsorship funds coming in to add to the total.
James is currently taking an advanced swimming course, including lifeguard training. The Griffiths family are really proud of their 'little marvel'.
