"BRACKENWOOD Infant School is a good school with many strengths," say Ofsted inspectors in a recently published report. These strengths include the very good provision it makes for children aged under five and those with Special Educational Needs. Its ethos is very positive and supports the overall progress of its pupils.
"The quality of teaching across the school ensures that pupils attain levels that meet or exceed the expectations for their age," and the quality of teaching is "100 per cent satisfactory with 68 per cent being good or better." Also highlighted were equality of opportunity and that "very positive relationships exist between all staff, children, parents and governors."
The report identified attainment and progress as "particularly good for all pupils in English with particular success in reading and spelling." Children's behaviour in and around school was deemed to be "very good" and other comments included recognition that "there is strong parental support for the high standards of behaviour expected by staff."
Staff and governors of the school are delighted with the report which re-emphasises the many strengths and successes of Brackenwood Infant School.
