HOYLAKE councillors John Hale and John Stedmon (Conservatives) make an 11th hour bid at Wirral Council tonight to block the conversion of Brookfield into a home for problem children.
They will move 'that the alterations and refurbishment of the home to be a complete waste of public money' and ask the acting director of construction services not to proceed with any work on this building.
Earlier in the year the Labour-controlled Council voted through controversial plans despite demonstrations by people living in the area.
Royden councillor Derek Robinson (Con) wants plans for a new sports hall at Calday Grange Grammar refused 'because of parking.' Coun Hale with Hoylake Councillor Mrs Hilary Jones (Con) will continue to campaign for a pedestrian crossing in Banks Road, West Kirby.
