A PROPOSED new motorcycle showroom has been given a kick-start by Merseyside Development Corporation.
North Liverpool's Atlantic Avenue is about to feature the latest Carnell Motorcycles showroom, on the junction of Derby Road and Sandhills Lane.
The project received the green light from MDC's Planning Board and it's now full throttle to construct a two-storey motorbike showroom; an accessory shop selling everything from boots and helmets to full leather suits; offices and customer car or motorcycle parking.
The facilities also include a refreshment area and motorcycle simulators.
The development will create 35 jobs, and service bike fanatics across the Merseyside region. It will complement Carnell Motorcycles Group's other showrooms in selected parts of the country.
Peter Bowler, Managing Director of Carnell Motorcycles Limited, said: "This is the sixth motorcycle retail site we've developed and it follows successful initiatives in Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Doncaster, Peterborough and Stockport.
"We are looking forward to opening in June 1998 and meeting and servicing the motorcycle community in Merseyside - in line with our other superstores we will provide an exciting retail facility for enthusiasts to purchase a wide range of motorcycle products."
MDC's Paul Sheppard said: "The regeneration of Atlantic Avenue continues to attract new companies to the area - Carnell hope to service customers from Southport to Runcorn from their showroom. And it's not just the bikers of Merseyside who will benefit as the development is set to create 30 jobs."
