MOTORISTS driving to quickly along busy streets, parents parking too close to schools, are road safety problems facing the local authorities like Wirral.
Now a newly published survey on road safety, for Vauxhall Glow Power, shows that parents in the North West know plenty about the theory of road safety but don't always put what they know into practice!
Half agree that black and grey, the most popular school uniform colours, are the most difficult to see, yet less than half said they made sure their children wore brighter, more visible clothing in winter.
Even though 94 per cent of parents feel angry when they see drivers speeding in built up areas, 39 per cent admitted they sometimes drive too fast.
Former boss of Vauxhall Ellesmere Port, Nick Reilly, now chairman and MD of Vauxhall, comments, "The results of this survey seem to underline that we should all be taking road safety for children a bit more seriously. vauxhall chose this time of the year to launch Glow Power after the clocks went back. Glow Power aims to educate parents about the importance being seen on foot, or on a bike during the Winter months."
