TAKE a voyage of discovery to the Ship Inn, Market Street, Hoylake, and visit a pub with a character very much of its own.
Inside, the tavern lives up to its name, with the main bar decorated like a ship, with nautical pictures and items covering the walls.
A warm welcome awaits from landlord Ian Mackie, who has spent the last nine years building up a loyal band of regulars who enjoy the wide range of beers on the bar.
As well as the beer, Ian has a full menu, which received praise from no less than the Sunday Telegraph, who said that the Ship's fare was worth travelling miles to!
The pub prides itself on raising money for local charities and have been very successful in doing so. Over the past six years, £40,000 has been raised and donated to local good causes.
Let's not forget that the Ship is home of a successful local football team, who have claimed several trophies in recent years. But if amateur football is not your scene, Sky TV is available for the Premier League.
Not only is Ian's welcome warm, the Ship's beer garden is well-known as a sun trap, and with Summer just appearing, where better to enjoy a relaxing drink?
