EASTHAM Mets Basketball team has won the Clywd Basketball Association's Handicap Cup. They beat Flintshire 175-152 in the final.
Eastham's Dale Cross and Martin Hodson caused havoc and helped Mets to a 145-64 half-time lead. Flintshire rallied in the second period and put together a 41-8 run to close the gap to 20 points.
As time began to run out for the Flintshire side, Mets took full advantage from the free throw line and when Andy Foulkes, Mark Price and Dave Chapman all picked up their fifth fouls, the Flintshire challenge faded in the closing stages.
Top scorers for Mets were Dale Cross with 27 points and Martin Hodson, 17 points.
