A HAUL of dangerous drugs stolen from a Birkenhead pharmacy over the weekend could prove lethal if they fall into wrong hands, particularly among children, Merseyside Police have warned.
Thieves who broke into the pharmacy in Laird Street got away with a large quantity of controlled drugs, which police are concerned could prove extremely dangerous if consumed by children. Their street value, police add, could be substantial.
"In the wrong hands these drugs could kill," warned an officer.
The stolen drugs include diazepan tablets, methadone in liquid, tablet and ampoule form, and tablets of nitrazapam, temazepam, and valium.
Thieves also stole a small quantity of cash.
If you have any information about any of these controlled drugs, Merseyside Police ask that you contact them at once. Phone Birkenhead station direct on 777-2230, or phone Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
