FAIRYTALES really do come true in the Globe - that's what we said when bubbly panto queen Emma Povall was crowned Miss Wirral Globe. Now she has just won Miss Chester, competing against a bevy of Merseyside and Chester beauties.
Emma, 21, goes through to the semi finals of Miss UK, with a possible £30,000 purse, then possibly into the Miss World line-up.
"It all happened because of the Globe wanting a Christmas panto queen for the Pyramids," said her proud mum.
Retiring Miss Chester and former Miss Globe Donna Hurren, of Neston, handed over the crown while accepting a bumper cheque for Claire House children's hospice from Ellesmere Port's Shell Club.
Both beauty queens are devoting their time, raising money for Claire House. Emma will be attending various Summer fairs and can be contacted via 343-0883.
Meanwhile, our previous Miss Globe Ann Marie Davies, of Birkenhead, is now in the top TV soap Brookside, while former Miss Wirral Globe Alex Worth, of Greasby, is Miss Ultraglow.
