WHILE on a camping weekend in Hadlow Fields, Willaston, Overchurch Upton Cubs and Scouts invited parents, Beavers and friends to a fun afternoon to raise money for the Rotary Club of Wirksworth and Water Aid.
A local firm contributed £50 to the final total of £234. The money will be used to buy Aquaboxes costing £35 each which will be held in storage by Rotary International until a suitable emergency arises.
The Scout Group provided free refreshments and barbecue during the afternoon and there was a donation box for Mencap's biggest 'D' Party, sponsored by Brooke Bond, which raised £62.
The afternoon ended with a campfire and songs by the Cubs and Scouts.
