ONE of Wirral's smallest guide units - with only 10 girls - helped shoppers pack their bags at their local Safeway. The 4th West Kirby Guides raised £260, donating £100 to Claire House Children's Hospice Appeal.
A COFFEE morning hosted by Hoylake District Friends of Guiding raised £500 for guide funds during a garden party at President Dora Bates's home.
PLANNING applications include extension of a play area at the Railway Inn, Birkenhead Road, Meols; erection of illuminated sign at Taurus Service Station, Bridge Road, West Kirby; change of use to three self-contained flats at Brynmore, North Parade, Hoylake; erection of a 20-mm mast on land at Greasby Copse, off Barker Lane, Greasby.
HOYLAKE Cottage Hospital summer fair is on Saturday, June 27.
WIRRAL branch Leukaemia Research raised £500 outside Safeways on June 5, reports treasurer R. Smith, of 33 Bertram Drive, Meols.
