From M. Smith:-
NAIVETY is sometimes a refreshing and attractive characteristic, but sometimes dangerous. Jenny Shackleton's notion (Wirral Globe, June 3) that you test the market for business at Carlett Park by putting up 'For Sale' signs is a dangerous one.
The college is already blighted by indications that it is likely to close. Students will not sign up for courses that are likely to be terminated and where the College facilities are being run down.
Jenny Shackleton and the Wirral Metropolitan Board have used the Old British Rail technique of cutting services to such an extent that no-one uses them and then claiming that there is no demand.
Carlett Park was publicly owned and operated for the education and enlightenment of the public and to support local industry - it would appear that it is now being used as a financial asset to balance the books of a mismanaged business.
