From Coun. Audrey Moore:-
AS a local councillor, I am very concerned that mobile telephone transmission masts can be erected without requiring planning permission, particularly when the effect microwaves have on the environment remains a matter of controversy.
I am pleased that, thanks to a very rapid response to the idea from parents and local residents the idea of erecting a mast at Poulton Lanceyln Primary School was rejected.
However, I am concerned that the company may approach another school, offering the same terms.
Therefore, in an attempt to introduce an agreed procedure for the erection of masts in Wirral, I started the process by securing the agreement of my Labour Party Branch to the attached resolution. I hope this will eventually lead to a policy decision of the Wirral Council.
