THE generosity of Vauxhall Motors has made life a great deal easier for Groundwork Wirral.
An original donation of an Astra Van by National Grid proved invaluable for Groundwork's practical environmental projects. However as Groundwork Wirral becomes increasingly involved with the New Deal initiative and the running of many Environmental Task Force teams, Vauxhall Motors has responded to the increased need for transport by subsidising a new seven seater midi bus.
The midi bus is crucial to the success of Groundwork's New Deal involvement. It will transport ETF participants between Groundwork Wirral's many project sites throughout Wirral where valuable environmental improvements are taking place.
Peter Davis, Executive Director of Groundwork Wirral, said: "We are extremely grateful to Vauxhall Motors. Jason Fullerton has just joined Groundwork as our first environmental task force 'New Deal' placement. He will be working under the supervision of Jim Crabtree, from Bidston, who is Groundwork's first ETF project leader. As Groundwork Wirral can offer up to 50 places to 18-24 year-old unemployed people to work with us on our environmental task force teams, the new vehicle will assist us in moving people and equipment from our site to site."
