OUTSTANDING Irish guitarist Louis Stewart crosses the sea to Gwernymynydd, near Mold, TONIGHT, June 17, as guest of the North Wales Jazz Society.
His appearance at the Plas Hafod Hotel will give locals the chance to hear a man whose CV reads like a Who's Who of jazz greats. Curently a member of the George Shearing Trio, Louis has worked with everyone from Benny Goodman and Dizzy Gillespie to Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes and Spike Robinson.
His international career took off in 1968 when he won the press prize at the Montreux International Jazz Festival, followed a year later by the Grand Prix for the best international soloist.
