MARTIAL arts star, 15-year-old Emma Bratherton, of Wallasey, has notched up a first by becoming the first member of the Keto Martial Arts Club, based at the Kings Arms, Wallasey, to be awarded a Black Belt.
Now, she is hoping it will be third time lucky when she competes in the British Open in September - Emma has been runner-up in the competition for the past two years.
Emma's dad, Paul, said: "We are all very proud of Emma. The Black Belt is a tremendous achievement."
Emma is coached by Keith Bulfield and Tony Lewis.
