TWO Wirral anglers missed out on glory in the world's biggest pairs event - the £21,000 Embassy Challenge in Denmark.

Peter Price, a plumber from Tranmere, and Wallasey factory operative Steve Boyd reached the final and finished 31st equal out of 40 entrants.

The event took place on two fish-filled lakes at Jels in South Jutland, Denmark.
