NORTH West Water is renewing outline planning permission to build on the "only wild open space" in New Brighton.
The 'Save the Gorse' campaign has objected to previous plans and wants the land at Gorsehill Reservoir Road used a a pocket park. Save the Gorse campaign has made an offer to North West Water and wait to see what use the water authority will eventually have for the land.
Wirral Wildlife has told Wirral Council that there is a severe shortage of open space in the area. While there is limited wildlife on the site, it is suitable for habitat creation and residents living in neighbourhood also wanted "the only wild open space in New Brighton protected".
MORETON Afternoon Townswomen had an enjoyable month, while the arts and crafts section is already planning an Autumn fair.
"A funny thing happened . . ." to the social studies group when Pat Deaken gave an amusing talk. Thailand was the title of a slide show given by Bob Blain to the townswomen gardeners.
First outing of the season was sponsored by Irene Evans, last year's president, to Martin Mere and Southport Botanical Gardens.
During this month, the social studies group will have a talk on Mersey ferries and the gardeners will have an outing to Erdigg. The main June guild meeting will have a talk on Working in the Community from Peter Booth. Contact the guild on 677 6248
