HELPERS arrived at Foxfield School, Douglas Drive, Moreton, to set up stalls for the Summer Fair only to find that vandals had smashed 35 windows at the school for pupils with complex learning difficulties.
Headmaster Andre Baird commented: "There was glass everywhere. We had come into school early in order to set up stalls. Instead, we had to clear up piles of glass. It saddens me that when staff, parents and friends of Foxfield work so hard to support us, other people carry out such mindless acts of destruction.
"It is costing a great deal of money to repair these windows. I fail to understand what attracts people to act in such a way."
The vandalism happened some time during the night of June 12. It seems the vandals systematically worked along the side of the building, smashing windows in classrooms, the gym and hydrotherapy pool, used by pupils and local community groups.
