IT'S awards time today (Wednesday, June 24) for 15 construction students at Wirral Metropolitan College.
The students, who have been studying for HNC, HND, BTEC and National Vocational Qualifications in Building Studies, Carpentry and Joinery, Plumbing and Painting and Decorating, will receive awards for outstanding effort and achievement at Wirral Met's International Business and Management Centre (IBMC) in Conway Park, Birkenhead.
Mr Ray Porter, of Porter Builders, Birkenhead, who recently starred in the New Deal advertisements on national television, will present the awards.
Prizes have been sponsored by Robinson and Neal and The Plumb Centre.
Students who will receive awards are:-
BTEC National Certificate - Eric Twigg.
BTEC Higher National Certificate - John Timperley, Steve Odger.
BTEC Higher National Diploma - Ken Ball.
National Diploma and GNVQ - Hellen Greenhalgh.
Plumbing - Neil Stocker (Best Personal Achievement); Mathew Dawson (Student Achieving the Highest Standards).
Brickwork - Peter O'Hare (Best Personal Achievement); Kenneth Humphreys (Student Achieving the Highest Standards).
Carpentry & Joinery - Mark Yates (Best Personal Achievement); David Butler (Student Achieving the Highest Standards).
Painting & Decorating - Stephen Robinson (Best Personal Achievement); Liz Monks (Student Achieving the Highest Standards).
